Ready for Valentine?

Lucia always brings interesting picture books to the group, and this week she had one that the children specially liked.

There was a lot to talk about even before we started!

What is a groundhog? But is it a mistake on the cover? What is a ground HUG then?

And clearly... everybody pointed out about the heart shaped balloons.

This story is like a multi layered treasure. There are a lot of themes that can be extrapolated for activities and talk.

Geography/science: where groundhogs and the other creatures could live?

Drama: shadow theatre, shadow puppets etc

Folktale/myths: Groundhog Day, the north.

Seasons: when does winter actually ends? Light and dark.
